Story
On Friday 28th June, our adventurous team of Boston Scientific Neuronauts have committed to completing the UK national 3 peaks challenge over the course of three days to support Burning Nights CRPS Support.
Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a poorly understood condition, impacting over 16,000 people in the UK, where a person experiences persistent severe and debilitating pain. Although most cases of CRPS are triggered by an injury, the resulting pain is much more severe and long-lasting than normal.
Burning Nights CRPS Support, is an independent UK charity, dedicated to not only raising awareness for this debilitating & life-changing condition, but to also support anyone who’s lives have been affected by it. Offering support & information by way of befriending & counselling services, website, awareness sessions, helpline, forum, email & social media support, annual conference, regular support groups & legal support.
The Three Peaks challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon), one after another – with an aim to complete the challenge over 3 Days. The total walking distance is 37km with a total ascent of 10,052ft.
Our team are not shy of adventure and a good challenge. We successfully completed the Solent swim and kayak Challenge in 2021 (Portsmouth to Isle of Wight), traversed the Brecon Beacon mountains (Wales) in 2022 and trekked the Edale Skyline (Peak District National Park). Having raised more than +£11k in donations for Parkinson’s UK, National Tremor Foundation, Dystonia UK & BRACE.
We are delighted to be supporting Burning Nights CRPS Support with our charity challenge this year and to highlight their great work. We’re also very grateful to Boston Scientific, our sponsor, for making this event possible.
No matter how big or small, every donation received helps fund to support those whose lives have been affected by this condition. Thank you in advance for your kind and generous support.
Best wishes,
“The Neuronauts”
