Yorkshire Dales Mighty Hike 2025 (and Yorkshire Three Peaks)

Yorkshire Dales Mighty Hike 2025 - full marathon · 28 June 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Last year, my dear mum sadly passed away from cancer. Despite living on the other side of the world, she was still able to attend a significant life event before her passing (my wedding in the summer). How lucky was I to have been able to dance with her one more time.
I was fortunate when the time came, I was able to get home to spend the final weeks by her side, with my truly inspirational sister. Most people do not get this opportunity, I am so grateful.
Today marks the first anniversary of her departure, and it is also the day I received in the post a letter confirmation from Macmillan, for signing up to participate in the Yorkshire Dales Mighty Hike 2025 - a full marathon trek. This feels like more than just a coincidence, the stars are aligned.
I am not a natural fundraiser or athlete, and I am uncertain why I have chosen this challenge or if it is even achievable, I have just thought it up and have no idea. However, I have learnt a few things - life is short, you don't know until you give it a go, and I am determined to give it my all. Over the course of three days, I will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge twice (Fri and Sun) and the Yorkshire Dales Mighty Hike (Sat), aiming to raise £25,000 for people living with cancer. After committing to this challenge, I messaged a friend asking is this hard. He replied "its 3 marathons in 3 days, that's tough !!".
This amount can cover the cost of Macmillan Nurses, providing crucial medical, practical, and emotional support to those affected by cancer and their families. Currently, there are 3 million people living with cancer in the UK alone, and it is vital that organizations like Macmillan receive support to fulfil their mission of being there for everyone from diagnosis onwards. Your contribution towards my pledge can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.
