Story
My hero my dad needed end of life care at home.
At 11.30 pm on 29 April 2025 dad's time came and we were extremely fortunate to have a Marie Curie nurse with us.
The really really lovely lady not only treated my dad with care, dignity and the utmost respect but she also provided much needed understanding, support and guidance for us as a family and we would not have coped or managed had she not been there for all of us.
Words cannot express how extremely grateful we are.
Shortly before 29 April I informed dad that I would be putting both mine and my brother's name forward for this challenge and he was absolutely thrilled and expressed his gratitude also for this fantastic charity and thought it was really funny that I was putting our names down without checking with my brother first 🤫

Fortunately, my brother is up for the challenge as is my nephew and will therefore be attempting the following challenge:-
On the 11th October 2025 our incredible team will take on 14 mile trail across 13 Tors of Dartmoor, as you navigate this historic land of myths and legends and the inspiration for Sir Arthur Conan Doyles classic Hound of the Baskervilles.
Beat the Trails for Marie Curie and help people get the best care possible, to the end.
All the money raised will help Marie Curie provide vital care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and their families at the toughest time.
£3 helps fund a meal for a patient in one of our hospices.
£26 helps help fund an hour of bereavement support by phone or webchat.
£207 helps fund nine hours of overnight nursing care in a patient's home.
