It's been just short of a week since we lost my beautiful best friend, Sarah, who spent her final few days in Overgate Hospice in Elland. The hospice provided excellent care to Sarah and her family and, for that, I will be eternally grateful to them.

On Saturday, alongside Sarah's nearest and dearest, I will be taking part in a midnight walk in support of the hospice. Please considering sponsoring me, if you can. I can't remember the last time I walked 10 miles or was up at midnight (except for toddler wake-ups) so that alone should be worth the sponsorship!? 🤷🏻‍♀️😁

Overgate Hospice provides expert care, support, advice and information for patients and their families, carers and loved ones.

Living with a life-limiting illness can affect a person in many ways. After being referred to us we will work in partnership with the patient to provide the care and support depending on their individual needs. All of our medical and nursing care is provided by a highly qualified and skilled team who will work with the patient to ensure they receive a high standard of care.

Our team of doctors and nurses can help relieve a persons symptoms, including pain management and fatigue, along with our Patient and Family Support Team who can help with adjusting to day-to-day life living with an illness. We also offer Bereavement Support, Carers Group and a Drop-In Service.

We know we cannot add days to life but we can add life to the days of our patients, making the most of the time they have left.
