We protect and support children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and support. We ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting improvements to their lives. Our vision is that every child and young person has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.

Story

For more than 150 years Action for Children has been providing support the UK’s most vulnerable children.

With a focus on giving back, C8 Consulting is actively participating in a host of activities to raise much needed funds for Action for Children, a charity close to our hearts and one we’ve chosen to partner with during 2025.

C8 Consulting’s Fundraising Initiative

Earlier this year, C8 Consulting’s Managing Director Paula successfully raised an incredible £1,442 by running the Reading 1020 Half Marathon. Continuing this fantastic momentum, the C8 team is excited to get behind the next fundraising activity: Boycott Your Bed!

Now entering its 28th year, Boycott Your Bed is an annual event inviting corporate teams to forgo their bed for the night, raising much needed funds and awareness for young people in poverty. Since its launch, this annual event has raised a spectacular £14.3 million for Action for Children to be there in moments of crisis, when young people are living without a safe and loving place to sleep.

The C8 team will be taking part in the London sleep out on the 3rd of October, in addition to volunteering help. It will likely be a cold and difficult night’s sleep, but every pound raised will go towards giving a child warm clothes, hot meals, and a proper bed.

About Action for Children

Right now, there are record numbers of children in the UK who are affected by homelessness. For many, the word ‘homeless’ conjures up an image of an adult rough sleeping on the streets. But there are several children and young people across the UK that currently don't have a place to call home. In the UK, it's estimated that almost 136,000 young people aged 16-24 were homeless or at risk of homelessness in 2023. The number, however, could be much higher. Homelessness is difficult to measure and official figures don't include everyone; there are the ‘hidden homeless’ who are getting by in informal arrangements. These young people could be sofa surfing, sleeping on floors, or staying with friends and strangers. The stark reality is, the longer that someone stays on the street, the greater the risk that they will be trapped without secure accommodation long term. Therefore, preventing a young person’s first homeless night is so important.

Last year Action for Children helped more than 765,905 children, young people and families across the UK. This year, C8 Consulting is fundraising to support Action for Children in its efforts to reach even more young people.
