SMILE Children’s Charity

After a heartfelt talk from the founders, Wendy, Stephen and Charlotte Meek at my local SWI meeting recently, I decided that I would like to support this new, local charity as I walk 14 1/2 miles while taking part in The Kiltwalk, Clydebank to Balloch on the 26th April of this year.

Inspired by Stephen and Wendy’s son Justin, who sadly passed away in 2014, the charity aims to provide a rural retreat based in Lanarkshire for families, to relax, play, and create memories along with providing holistic and practical support therapy sessions for their carers.

SMILE Children’s charity mission is to provide “care, comfort and calm” to families navigating childhood disabilities and serious illnesses.
