In memory of Paula Keys (McIntyre) - Peaches Womb Cancer Trust

Anna McIntyre Howe is raising money for Peaches Womb Cancer Trust
In memory of Paula Keys (McIntyre)
Peaches Womb Cancer Trust was founded in 2020 by a team of enthusiastic and dedicated researchers, doctors and nurses based at St. Mary’s Hospital in Manchester. Our aim is to preserve the health and improve the experience of those with or at risk of womb cancer and their families.

Story

On 31 August, in a loss we can't at the moment fully understand or adequately express, our Paula; our hilarious, loving, razor-sharp, warm, silly, caring sister, daughter, wife, and friend, passed away suddenly from complications related to her womb cancer treatment.

Paula was only diagnosed in July - so we all had only a short time to wrap our heads around the news - but in that time, in true Paula fashion, she had already stepped up to raise awareness, advocate for other women, and support those around her.

We know that she was planning to write a blog, to shout about womb cancer and its signs. Womb cancer, despite being the most common gynaecological cancer, is less spoken about - with only 1 in 5 women aware of it. Paula wanted to change that, quickly.

Sadly, she will never get the chance to use her own voice to do that. So we're going to try and do that for her.

In lieu of flowers, and in the run-up to her funeral, we are asking her, and our, loved ones to consider making a donation to the Peaches Womb Cancer Trust - the only UK charity dedicated solely to womb cancer.

Peaches was only established in 2020, and works tirelessly to:

- Raise awareness of womb cancer, which is still little known despite being the most common gynaecological cancer in the UK.

- Support women and families going through diagnosis and treatment.

- Fund vital research into early detection, prevention, and better treatments.

Peaches remains a small charity for now - so any donation, no matter how small, can make a difference to the cause, and to Paula's memory.
