Story

For those of you who know me, you'll know i like a challenge and every 2 years I look to raise money for charity. This time I'll be raising money again for Cancer Research. Since my last fundraiser I have lost several girlfriends to Cancer, most recently a dear friend this week and have a number of friends and family who have, and are being affected by the disease.

Today I am completing the last of my 3 challenges:

The first took place on Sunday 1st September, myself and my cycling buddy Liz Ainslie completed a Sprint Tri (just to remind ourselves how to 'Tri' ) it was my 26th Tri to date although I haven't done one for 5 years :-) and after an early start, we placed 4th and 5th in our age groups.

The 2nd challenge is to cycle from Seaford to Newhaven, and then from Dieppe to Paris along the L' avenue Verte (300k in 3.5 days) between the 12th and 15th September, accompanied by my cycling buddy Liz. We will be riding the route on our gravel bikes and carrying all we need for our trip with us on our bikes, there may be some wine and cheese along the way, purely for 'fuelling' of course.

My final challenge was delayed due to high winds and was due to now take place on 21st September. So, today , I will be jumping out of a plane and doing a 15,000 feet tandem sky dive in Devon with my 22 year old niece, apparently 'Mad Auntie Paula' was her preferred sky dive partner ;-).

This one is a big challenge for me as I am both scared of heights and suffer from vertigo, however, 'they' say (whoever 'they' are) that the only way to conquer your fears is face them head on.

As always, any donations you can give however small or large for Cancer research are greatly appreciated.

Wish us luck!

Paula
