Story
For over three years, I’ve had the privilege of working at NLH, now as the Patient & Family Support Manager—a role that has moved me more deeply than any other in my long career as a social worker. Ive witnessed the kind of care that’s not just excellent—it’s extraordinary. Whether in our inpatient unit or out in the community, the compassion, dignity, and dedication shown to patients and families is something truly special.
Our mission is simple but profound: to ensure the best of life at the end of life for everyone. And I’ve seen firsthand how much that matters—and how much it costs.
So… I’m doing something wildly out of character. I’m walking barefoot across burning embers to raise funds for NLH. Yes, actual fire. No, I haven’t lost my mind (I don’t think). But I believe in this cause deeply and I’m willing to do something that terrifies me just a little.
Please support me in this challenge. Every donation helps us continue offering comfort, care, and compassion when it’s needed most.
Thank you 💙
