Walking the Great Glen Way · 29 April 2023

We enable people with mobility limiting disabilities to access the countryside on organised and sociable rambles using a fleet of suitable mobility scooters. Our aim is to bring the health benefits of a ramble in our beautiful countryside to our user group.

Story

It’s easy to take walking for granted. In 2022 I developed sciatica and went from training for a sprint triathlon to being able to walk less than a mile overnight. It took eight months to recover from and I fully appreciate being able to go out for long pain free walks again.

When my brother-in-law decided to undertake the ambitious task of organising and enabling the Forth and Tay Disabled Ramblers to conquer the Great Glen Way, I knew it was something I wanted to volunteer and help raise funds for immediately. Everyone should be able to enjoy getting out into nature and the countryside.

I’ll be walking the Great Glen Way from 29th April to 7th May 2023, while at the same time volunteering to facilitate the Disabled Ramblers in their quest to accomplish this challenge. We’d all be very grateful if you would donate what you can to support them.

Thanks very much,

Paula.
