The Magic Lion Appeal: Enhancing hospital care for children and young people in Hampshire

Every day, children and young people in Hampshire need care and support.

Having worked as a nurse in many guises for child health since 1988 I have seen many changes . I wanted to undertake this challenge in honour of all the young people and families I have had and continue to have, the privilege of working with . I have seen first hand how small changes can have a big impact on a child's /young persons perspective on their hospital experience . From a personal perspective I will be facing my fears I hate heights . So please support me in this worthy cause .

The Magic Lion Appeal aims to enhance hospital care for children and young people in Hampshire through improvements to our child health department at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT). By raising funds, were supporting a reconfiguration of child health space in Winchester and upgrades in Basingstoke, Andover and Alton. This will allow our patients to be seen in an environment that ensures they get the best possible care in a way that suits their needs.

For all of us, coming into hospital can be scary. We want to make sure that whether its a first time visit or a routine appointment, children, young people and their families at HHFT feel as comfortable, safe and at ease as they can be. But we cannot do it without your help.
