Bolton Mountain Rescue Team is a voluntary search and rescue charity and a member of Mountain Rescue England and Wales that represents 49 teams. Bolton MRT is made up entirely of volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We cover an area of over 800 square kilometres extending from Darwen in the West Pennine Moors to the north to beyond Manchester Airport in the south, and from Wigan to the west to the centre of Manchester in the east.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Bolton Mountain Rescue Team covers an operational area from Darwen in the north to Manchester Airport in the south, Wigan to the east and the centre of Manchester to the east, also covering Darwen moors and Tockholes etc. A patch that might sound mainly urban but which contains extensive areas of accessible moorland and open countryside popular with walkers, climbers, mountain bikers and horse riders. They operate 365 days a year 24/7. They help in all different scenarios, which includes rescuing lost and injured people from the hills, climbers who may be stuck on precipitous crags and sometimes they may need to tackle rivers and swift water etc. They also support the concerned families and friends of the people they are helping. These volunteers put a lot of hours in, both in training and in their rescues but in order to do this they need our donations to buy and maintain much needed specialist equipment and clothing etc. Please donate if you can. Thank you.
