Story
We have been moved by the number of people who have been in touch since the death of our Mum, Pauline Longbottom. Many of you have asked if you can contribute to a charity in her memory.
Tennis was a big part of Mum’s life, through which she made many life-long friends - old and young. She played competitively from her childhood in Cottingham and Hull, in Keighley after she was married and at Ilkely LTC into her 70’s. At Ilkley LTC, she was first team captain and gave long service on the committee. She was in the County Championship-winning over-65’s Yorkshire Vets team, and a Vice President of Yorkshire Tennis. She taught all of us and many other young people the joys and benefits of tennis. She gave a lot to tennis, and tennis gave her a lot back.
So we have nominated Give It Your Max for donations in Mum’s memory. It is a UK charity that helps improve the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable children through the empowering sport of tennis.
Thank you very much for supporting this great cause in Mum’s memory
