Story

This year, I’m taking on massive challenge: a 100km Ultramarathon along the River Thames, from Putney Bridge to Henley-on-Thames — and I’m aiming to complete it in under 12 hours.
I’m running for two incredible causes that mean a great deal to me:
Macmillan Cancer Support
This run is dedicated to two people close to my heart. My godfather (Bill Russell) is currently undergoing treatment for lung cancer, and my partner’s grandad (Ian Duncan) has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Their strength and resilience are my inspiration every step of the way.
Utilita Giving
As someone who works closely with vulnerable customers in my role, I’ve heard countless stories of people facing unimaginable hardship. Utilita Giving supports individuals and families struggling with fuel and energy poverty — a cause that resonates deeply with me, especially as a father. I can’t imagine being in the position many of these families find themselves in.
I’ve completed a few marathons over the past couple of years, but this 100km challenge is on a whole new level. Every mile will be tough, but knowing I’m running for these two amazing charities — and the people they support — will get me over the line!
Thank you for your support. Every donation makes a difference.
