Story
You know how when you're climbing a mountain, you sometimes think you can see the summit ahead, but when you get there the summit is actually a much higher mountain beyond? That's how it is for Grange Methodist Church's 'Open for Community' building project right now. We've raised around £900k, which was our target, but having had up-to-date quotes from contractors, the cost is now a lot higher (for all sorts of valid reasons).
Our building is well used by our local community and one of our key aims is to make it less of a steep climb (up steps) for those coming into the building - with a unified accessible entrance for all. We also want to improve our toilet and kitchen facilities.
On Saturday 26th October 2024, I am taking part in a 3 Peaks Writing Challenge organised by new2thescene.co.uk. Not writing while climbing the three peaks, but writing three 3000 word stories in 15 hours. That's 600 words per hour, if I don't take any breaks. I will be given a topic and opening line for each story.
Everyone who donates at least £10 will receive copies of my three stories after the event. Be one of the first twelve people to donate at least £30 and you can choose a character name or object to feature in one of my stories. If you want a copy of the stories, or to choose a character or object, make sure your donation isn't anonymous, so that I know who to contact.
