Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Thursday 25th May 2023 Paul Short, Head of Customer Services, suffered an unexpected stroke causing loss of movement to his left side of his body. Paul was rushed to UHCW hospital for emergency treatment, where they found a clot on the brain, after receiving medication to treat the blood clot and his high blood pressure he was transferred to the George Elliott Hospital Felix Holt Stroke Ward for rehabilitation. After four weeks of intense physiotherapy he was discharged to home care where he is still receiving daily physiotherapy to encourage movement back to his left side.
Paul received excellent care on the Felix Holt ward with limited and outdated resources therefore he would like to raise money to provide the ward with a specialist exercise bike and wheelchairs for the stroke patients which they have been waiting for over four years to purchase, they have no specialist equipment and only two wheelchairs for over 70 patients.
Paul has been overwhelmed by the amount of support and well wishes he has received, he has clearly made some long lasting friendships over the past 25 years he has been with the company. He has a long road ahead of him to get back to full health.
We welcome any donation big or small to help Paul reach his goal and give back to the Felix Holt ward which has helped him massively with his recovery.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
