15 best walks in the UK

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was born in Moldova and lived there until the age of 15. Moldova is neighbouring Ukraine, both having strong ties with each other. I visited Ukraine numerous times. We'd go almost every summer with my family to the Odessan beach, in South West of Ukraine. Me and my younger brother really enjoyed it. They had claw machines everywhere, and we would spend every penny we could get on them. Most summers we'd return from holiday with no toys won. But one summer WE WON 3. We were so happy, it was the highlight of the year for us. :D

Unfortunately because of the war it's not safe to go to that area now, which is a shame as the city of Odessa and its beaches are beautiful and worth visiting.

For me it's very sad to think that the places that I visited may not be there when I go next time. I hope they will be...and Ukraine will be as welcoming as it used to be before the war.

I'm rooting for Ukraine in the conflict as the reason for the invasion doesn't make sense to me. I hope the fighting will stop soon with a good deal for Ukraine.

My personal target for 2023 is to walk the 15 walks listed below, which are supposed to be the best in the UK, according to Conde Nast Traveller https://www.cntraveller.com/gallery/uk-walks (they added 4 more in August 2023)

I have so far completed 12 out of 15. 🥳 I was treating it as a personal NY resolution hence I didn't start the fundraise earlier. But now I think Ukraine needs every help they can get, and I want to help as much as I can.

My next walk will be the longest one, 73 miles, from Knighton to Machynlleth, part of Glyndŵr's Way in Wales. I'm planning to start walking this Saturday on the 16th of September. As it will take me a few days, I'm planning to take my tent with me. ⛺

If you want to support me on the last, but challenging stretch, and the people of Ukraine, I'd very much appreciate your donation for Nova Ukraine 🙏
