Story
We are raising money for Alzheimer's Society because 1 in 11 people over the age of 65 have a dementia diagnosis in the UK.
On Wednesday 6th December, the Reablement team from Peterborough City Council, are hosting Elf Day again, for the third year in a row, in aid of Alzheimer's Society. Last year was a huge success and we raised over £1,000. This year we are hoping we can raise over £1,500.
We are looking to go bigger and better this year as many members of our community our affected and Reablement support those with a dementia diagnosis throughout our service so we experience first hand the wonderful impact Alzhiemer's society and donations can make.
Our team will be dressed as festive elves, hosting a tombola with some fabulous prizes (including hampers, POSH tickets and a hold host of other prizes) holding homemade cake sales and a variety of fun games, including last years' favourite, guess the name of the elf! Please wear a Christmas jumper on the day if you have one to support the cause and get into the festive spirit!
We really hope that everybody gets behind us, to raise as much money as we can for a worthy cause, and also to have some fun along the way!
Ready, Set, SNOW! I'm unleashing my inner elf to support people affected by dementia.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.
Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
