Story
I'm gearing up for my 11th year participating in the UK Police Unity Tour, cycling from Humberside Police HQ to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire from July 26th to 28th, covering a meaningful 180 miles.
This journey is not just a ride; it's a commitment to raising funds and awareness for COPS (Care Of Police Survivors). COPS plays a crucial role in supporting the families of police officers and staff who have lost their lives on duty. The challenges these families face are unimaginable, and COPS steps in to provide vital assistance during these difficult times.
The loss of a loved one in the line of duty brings forth a range of emotions, from denial to bewilderment, anger, and depression. Recognising the limitations of the police service in providing sustained support, COPS steps in to bridge the gap and ensure that survivors have the help they need to cope and remain part of the police family.
COPS operates as a beacon of support, enabling survivors to help each other. The peer support program is built on shared experiences, allowing survivors to connect and understand the unique challenges they face.
As I embark on this journey, I seek your support and sponsorship to make a positive impact on the lives of those who have lost their loved ones while serving their community. Your contribution, no matter the size, will go a long way in helping COPS continue its vital work. Please consider sponsoring me, and let's make a difference together.
COPS and I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me to help the families of those who have lost their lives doing the job that they loved.
Regards
