Puddle Ducks Charity Pyjama Week

Puddle Ducks York, Hull and East Yorkshire is raising money for Martin House Hospice for Children and Young People

Puddle Ducks Charity Pyjama Week · 6 October 2025

Martin House Children's Hospice provides vital care to help children and young people with a life-limiting condition, along with their families, to live well and fully, offering the best possible end of life care and support to the family in bereavement.

Story

For most families, a trip to the swimming pool is a simple pleasure. But for families caring for a child with a life-shortening or complex condition, it’s often impossible.

That’s why, as part of phase two of THE BUILD, Martin House is creating something truly special — a multi-sensory hydrotherapy pool. This space will give children and their families a rare sense of freedom: to stretch, float, play, and feel weightless together.

This pool isn’t just part of a building project; it’s a symbol of what we can achieve when a community comes together. Built with love, compassion and the belief that every child deserves the chance to feel free, supported and happy.

Hydrotherapy can help manage pain, ease muscle spasms, and provide freedom for children who face physical challenges. Unlike regular pools, it’s warm, calm, and equipped to safely welcome children with complex needs. For many families, it will mean swimming together for the very first time.

💙 This Puddle Ducks Charity Pyjama Week, we’re raising funds to help Martin House make this dream a reality. Every donation brings us closer to giving children and their families the joy, comfort and freedom they deserve.

Thank you for your support!
