Story
The Peak to Peat Challenge
On 2nd October, the True Travel team are taking on a gruelling 'Race Across The World' style challenge to raise vital funds for the True Travel Foundation.
We will begin by climbing to the highest point in England – Scafell Pike in the Lake District (978m). We then have just 24hrs to race over 350km across the country to the lowest point – Holme Fen, south of Peterborough (-2m).
We will have no phones, no wallets, and only enough cash for water and bare essentials.
We will sleep wherever we can find shelter, battle whatever the weather throws at us, and rely on the kindness of strangers.
It’s going to be very cold, very wet and seriously tough – but nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by the communities we are doing this for.
Why we’re doing it:
Every penny raised will go directly to charities supported by the True Travel Foundation, including:
- The Rucksack Project, India – providing rucksacks filled with life essentials to orphaned children in Jaipur.
- The Newman Holiday Trust, UK – giving disadvantaged and disabled children a chance to enjoy a safe, fun, and life changing holiday.
- The Sol y Luna Foundation, Peru – offering education, healthcare, and opportunities to underprivileged children in the Sacred Valley.
- The Female Empowerment Programme, Zambia – training young women with digital literacy and skills to build brighter futures.
How your donation makes a difference:
• £10 buys a rucksack full of life essentials for an orphaned child in Jaipur.
• £50 provides a year’s digital literacy training for a young girl in Zambia.
• £250 funds a month’s education, meals, and healthcare for a child at the Sol y Luna Foundation in Peru.
Your donation, however big or small, will go directly to transforming lives.
So PLEASE donate now and be part of the journey.
A huge thank you from all of us at True Travel x
