UPDATE ON THE CHALLENGE:
Warning long post!
Thank you to everyone who supported us on our National 3 Peaks challenge and those that donated to our chosen charity Marie Curie.
Now onto planning our next adventure!
Peaky Blinders are a crazy group of friends who have decided to take on the challenge of completing the National Three Peaks in 24 hours, yes, 24 hours!
We have decided to complete the challenge And fundraise for Marie Curie. In 2014 Marie Curie supported Rebecca and her family whilst their mum, Val Jones, battled cancer. They helped every night by sitting with their mum making sure she received the care she needed until she sadly passed away. Val was an amazing mother who will always be greatly missed and loved.
The team is made up of Jaimie, Jane, Jo, Kerry, Kitty, Rebecca and Rosie with our designated hero drivers helping us reach our goal Peter and Chris.
11 July we set off from Leeds to travel up to Ben Nevis. Jump straight out of the van and climb Ben Nevis.
Ben Nevis: Located in Scotland, it's the tallest of the three at 1,345 meters (4,413 feet). The climb starts in the town of Fort William and offers stunning views of the Scottish Highlands.
Back in the van, fall out and climb Scafell.
Scafell Pike: This is the highest peak in England, standing at 978 meters (3,209 feet). It's situated in the beautiful Lake District, and the climb usually starts from Wasdale Head.
Back in the van, get dragged out to climb Snowdon.
Snowdon: The tallest mountain in Wales, Snowdon reaches 1,085 meters (3,560 feet). It's located in Snowdonia National Park, and there are several routes to the summit, with the Llanberis Path being one of the most popular.
The challenge involves not just climbing these mountains, but also driving between them, which adds to the adventure.
Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, they are with you to the end. They bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone. And they push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.
Marie Curie is a charity working across the UK and they need your support to do our vital work.
Marie Curie would really benefit from your donation, no matter how small!
