Story

Three friends of a certain age; Charlie, Joff & Mark aim to cycle from London, across France and into Italy, to just north of Perugia in Umbria the “green heart of Italy”.

Over the 2 weeks we will cycle over 1,700 kilometres and climb around 18,000 metres. We have all done a bit of cycling over the years but never something like this.

We will be cycling in aid of the PKD Charity a UK-based organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). For 25 years, they have been a beacon of hope for the 70,000 people in the UK living with this incurable condition.

Since their founding in 2000, they have invested thousands of pounds into groundbreaking research aimed at developing new treatments to slow or prevent PKD progression, reduce pain, improve quality of life, and ultimately, find a cure.

Beyond research, they are deeply committed to providing unwavering support to their community. Through support groups and events held throughout the year, they offer essential information, emotional guidance, and advocacy for better treatments. These gatherings create a strong sense of belonging and reassurance, reminding everyone that they are not alone in this journey.

As they celebrate their 25th anniversary, they remain dedicated to driving progress, raising awareness, and standing by those affected—now and in the future.
