Story
I'm taking part in The 137 Challenge with ActionAid and completing a mixture of 137 daily step-ups, sit ups and squats for one month 💪 When I started I could only do ten sit-ups but I am building on that every day.
Why? Because sadly, one in three women will experience some form of violence in their lifetime, and globally 137 women are killed per day by a partner, family member or friend. As I survivor of domestic abuse myself, I’m passionate about this cause and I am a member of the Church of Scotland’s national task force group called, “Integrity”. Which works to raise awareness about gender based violence and to equip the church to respond appropriately with compassion and the correct sign posting.
As I am spending some time in London at the moment I have been finding fun places to complete my daily 137 Challenge like in the V&A, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, outside Buckingham Palace and the Albert Hall as well as from Shotover Park Oxford to as far as Brighton Beach! Check out my gallery or social media posts!
ActionAid are working around the world with woman and girls who are fighting to claim their rights and change the systems and beliefs that make violence acceptable.
