Story
The Principality of Sealand is an old sea fort, situated in international waters, that proclaimed its independence and became a micro-nation in 1967.
Myself and support crew will be taken by RIB from the port of Felixstowe (Levington marina) where we will pass some of the biggest container ships in the world. From there the RIB will speed into the North Sea to Sealand.
From there I will swim the seven plus miles (tides make this varied) in skins, back to the Suffolk coast, hopefully landing where I usually swim in Felixstowe. The route will take us through the Felixstowe deep water shipping Channel which regularly hosts the passage of the largest container ships in the world.
This is a milestone swim for me having been inspired and encouraged by so many of our wonderful swimming community. 🥰 Despite having always been a swimmer, I’ve only been an open water swimmer for 2 years. 🌊🏊♀️
