Story
I’m taking on the Trek26 Peak District challenge, a long 26-mile walk, alongside four amazing friends, all to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.
We are walking in memory of our dear friend’s mum, Clarissa, and in honour of all the friends and family who have been affected by this cruel disease.
Everyone I speak to about this challenge seems to have been affected is some way, whether they are supporting a friend, a parent, or a family member, its so devastating to hear that it affects so many. It touches entire families, and its effects are something so many of us have felt.
The group of amazing women that I’m doing this with are more than just friends, they’re my support network, who I first met when my eldest son was just 6 weeks old (he’s now 12!). Over the years, we’ve shared so much life together, the highs, the lows, countless walks, weekends away, laughter and many a rum and coke, but above all, support when it mattered most. Now, we’re coming together as “mums on a mission” to take on this challenge for a cause close to our hearts.
26 miles will be tough, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges faced by those living with Alzheimer’s and the people who love them.
If you’re able to support us, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world. Every donation helps fund vital research and support for those affected.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support 💙
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
