Story
In November 2027, I will be travelling to Cambodia as part of a volunteer team of dental professionals with Dentaid, providing urgent and life-changing dental care to remote and underprivileged communities who have little to no access to treatment.
To make this possible, I am working to raise £3,000. These funds will directly cover the costs of participating, as well as purchasing essential dental supplies, equipment, and medicines to treat hundreds of patients in need.
Over the coming months, I will be organising various fundraising events and making a personal financial contribution toward my target. I am also working hard behind the scenes to secure donated clinical supplies from the dental community to take over with us.
Why This Is Important
It’s easy to take being able to pop to the dentist for granted. But around the world, a staggering 70% of people have no access to dental care at all. That means hundreds of millions of adults and children are living with chronic, agonising toothaches with no way to stop the pain.
While in Cambodia, our volunteer team will be setting up makeshift outreach clinics wherever we’re needed; in remote village schools, orphanages, community halls, and rural areas. We’ll be working long days to give hundreds of people free, safe treatment to get them out of pain, alongside running toothbrushing and oral health education sessions for local children.
How You Can Help Me Get There
To make this trip possible, I need to raise £3,000.
These funds go directly towards getting our team out there, as well as buying the essential dental supplies, portable equipment, and medicines needed to treat patients. Alongside making my own personal contribution and sourcing donated clinical supplies, I’ll be running a few fun fundraising events over the coming months (so watch this space!).
If you feel able to support me with a donation (no matter how big or small), it would mean the world to me. And if you’re unable to donate right now, simply sharing this page with your friends, family, or colleagues would be a massive help.
Thank you so much for reading, for your support, and for helping me make this opportunity possible. I can’t wait to keep you all updated on the journey!
Love,
Penny the Dentist x
