We’re Racing for a Reason – Support Team Pentelow & Martin House!

On Sunday 7th September, the Pentelow team will be swapping spreadsheets for paddles as we take on the Charity Dragon Boat Race at Roundhay Park in Leeds (9am–6pm), all in support of the incredible Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Martin House provides specialist care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, as well as vital support for their families across Yorkshire. Their compassionate work makes a huge difference every single day, and we’re proud to row in their honour.

What’s the Dragon Boat Race all about?

This isn’t just any race! It’s a fun, high-energy team challenge involving 10 paddlers and a drummer, racing in traditional-style dragon boats. Each team will take part in at least three adrenaline-filled races, with the fastest heading to the semi-finals. No experience required - all we need is your support, spirit, and good luck wishes!

It’s also a brilliant day out for families, with fairground rides, refreshments and prizes. All wrapped up in the energy of competition and community.

How You Can Help:

To be officially entered into the race, we need to reach 50% of our fundraising target (£600) before the event. That means early donations really matter. They don’t just support Martin House, they get us to the start line!
