Story
Several of my colleagues and I are participating in the MultiCare Bridge to Brunch 5K walk on September 30th, 2023, to raise financial support for the ongoing expenses of our Perinatal Bereavement Program. Our program has been in existence for many years, with continued effort to improve our services to the bereaved perinatal community
Losing a baby, regardless of the circumstances, is one of life’s most tragic experiences. The MultiCare INW Perinatal Bereavement Program exists to provide individualized and compassionate care, supporting families through their grief journey, and helping them create lasting memories of their baby.
In an ongoing effort to develop highly equipped, sensitive, and educated staff, our program utilizes the Resolve Through Sharing Perinatal Loss course, which is 16-hour training course offered to our Labor Delivery, Mother Baby, and NICU nurses as well as support professionals.
One of the most treasured aspects of our program is the amount of effort and attention taken to provide the families with as many permanent and tangible reminders of their baby’s life as possible. In addition to dozens of photos, should parents desire, we provide ornaments, forget-me-not seed packets, memorial candles, foot castings, footprints, blankets, hats, Bears, and many printed and bound resources, all given free of charge, of course.
Here is a quote from a recently bereaved parent we cared for, highlighting the impact of our program…
The perinatal bereavement program allowed us to not only make incredible memories with our daughter Harlow but also allowed her very brief life to be so perfect. The literature they provided for our family played a very important role in having all of our wishes granted. The program is a tremendous source of support for families that are forced to make very delicate & hard decisions. All Harlow ever knew was love thanks to this wonderful team who we are forever grateful for.
I consider it a great honor to walk alongside these families in their grief and loss. Would you consider partnering with me as we continue to develop and strengthen the offerings we bring to these parents and families?
Your contribution of
$150 provides the training materials for 1 staff member to attend the Resolve Through Sharing Perinatal Loss training program.
$100 allows 3 families to each receive a pair of foot castings of their baby, a tangible reminder they treasure, and one the most requested mementos.
$75 purchases a bundle of selected books for parents, siblings, and families, which are individually tailored to the families unique needs.
$50 covers the cost of 3 Teddy Bears with heartbeat recorders. When possible, we capture their baby’s heartbeat and place it in the bear, allowing parents to ‘hear’ their baby.
$30 buys a package of 3 baby fabric wraps for use in creating photo memories for families.
100% of your financial contribution will be directed to our program.
