PPP - 2024 Plod into Christmas Advent Challenge · 1 December 2024

Maggs is a Worcestershire-based charity that supports the homeless and vulnerable. We provide the basics, a lifeline to help people survive the worst of what life throws at them. We operate through two open-door day centres in Worcester and Malvern, a Clothing Project and our Accomodation Project.

Story

Pershore Plum Plodders would like to issue the usual December challenge, in which you can help to raise money for a very worthy local charity, Maggs.

We are inviting you to run/walk at least 1 Mile each and every day for the pre-Christmas Advent period, have your kilometres collated, and at the end of the period, donate on a five pence per kilometre deal!

Why MAGGS. This charity looks out for people down on their luck and need in of our help, by:

After a night sleeping rough - Maggs gives homeless people somewhere warm and dry to spend the day.

A good hot meal – Their staff and volunteers prepare healthy, simple food for homeless people, including breakfast and lunch, currently for five days a week

Clean, dry clothes - Nobody likes getting caught out in the rain: soaked to the skin and chilled to the bone. But if you are homeless, Maggs is there with a much needed and very welcome change of clothes.

Good Luck everyone
