Petals Charity Walk

Richards Family is raising money for Petals
In memory of Beatrice Richards

Walk from Guys Hospital, London to The Rosie Hospital, Cambridge · 10 May 2025

Petals specialist counselling service can be accessed by any parent affected by pregnancy or baby loss. We provide this service at no cost to parents and it is our aim to offer this vital service to all bereaved parents no matter where they live or the type of loss they have experienced.

Story

This year marks 10 years since our daughter Beatrice was stillborn at 35 weeks.

Her twin sister Phoebe is a fun-loving, football-mad 10-year old who is a great big sister to Thea, 8, and Arthur, 6.

To mark this milestone, on May 10/11 2025, I will be walking from Guys Hospital in London, where we found out we were expecting the twins at an early scan, to the Rosie Hospital at Addenbrooke's in Cambridge, where all the children were born. The route covers approximately 65 miles, and I’ll be joined by some fantastic walking buddies along the way!

We will be raising money for Petals, the specialist baby loss bereavement charity, who saved us in our darkest time and without whom our family as we know it would not be here.

The specialist counselling service that Petals provide is life-changing for parents who have suffered the devastating loss of a pregnancy or death of a baby. They understand that these tragic experiences not only result in grief but also in trauma and their wonderful counsellors are there to help parents navigate their grief and trauma and to guide them to a place of hope.

By supporting this challenge you will be helping Petals to deliver more vital counselling sessions to bereaved parents.

In loving memory of Beatrice.
