Story
Hi there,
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. My name is Pete and in April 2025, I will be taking on the incredible challenge of running the London Marathon to raise money for Maggie’s Centres, a charity that means a lot to me as it supported in particular my Mum in her hour of need.
This run isn’t just about completing 26.2 miles. It’s deeply personal. It’s in honour of my Mum, Rosie, and my Dad, John, who both bravely fought cancer but sadly lost their lives to it.
Maggie’s Centres played such an important role during those difficult times. They provided not just practical support, but a compassionate space for my family when we felt overwhelmed by the enormity of cancer. Whether it was answering questions, offering a quiet moment away from the hospital, or simply making us feel less alone, Maggie’s was there for us when we needed it most.
Now, I want to give something back to this incredible organisation so they can continue to provide that same care for other families facing cancer.
Why Maggie’s Centres Matter
Maggie’s Centres offer free cancer support, practical advice, and a calming space for anyone affected by cancer—whether it’s patients, families, or friends. They help with everything from managing treatment side effects to emotional coping strategies, and their work is funded entirely through donations.
How You Can Help
Your donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference. Every pound raised will help Maggie’s Centres to continue providing their life-changing support to people affected by cancer.
