Story
The Camino Frances has been on my bucket list for quite a few years, but watching the film, "The Way," truly ignited my passion for this journey! This remarkable trek spans just shy of 500 miles, starting from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in the French Pyrenees and culminating at Santiago De Compostela in Northern Spain. As I embark on this famous pilgrimage route, which has been traveled for over a thousand years, I will be walking in the footsteps of countless pilgrims who have come before me.
I will dedicate 40 days to this journey, allowing myself the occasional day off to recharge and reflect. My purpose for undertaking this personal trek is to raise funds for the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, and also for personal reflection. We are striving to raise £50,000 to replace and modernize the wet room in the inpatient unit, ensuring that those who need care receive it in a comfortable and dignified environment.
I understand that my goal is significant, but I am filled with hope and determination as I take on what will be my biggest fundraising challenge yet. It has taken considerable time and effort to plan this adventure and arrange special leave from my duties at both the hospice and Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Your support means everything to me.
