Story
Huge Thank you for all who supported DougieMac by sponsoring me on the bike ride.
A poor weather forecast meant most people made an earlier start than originally intended. Due to a misunderstanding of timing I was one of the last two people to depart.
The ride went well despite some people getting lost. I did help by guiding a group of people through one tricky off road section.
The rain made the last part a wet ride but a well worthwhile experience.
Thanks again.
Pete
DougieMac - What a service. What a privilege to support.
Living life to the full.
A very dear friend of mine, Helen, has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
Helen is an inspiration to her family, friends and to me personally. Despite suffering this debilitating illness she is still making massive positive differences to everyone she meets.
This has been the story of her life.
Dougie Macc have been incredible. Their staff are not only medically proficient but they really know how to talk and relate to people. They have always offered a listening ear. There is always someone there.
Dougie Mac and my friend Helen are very similar. Putting the welfare of others to the fore.
Long may this continue.
DougieMac provide hospice services to over 3,500 local people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as offering supportive care to their families and carers. From the same founder of Macmillan Cancer Support.
On 14 September 2025 I hope to complete the DougieMac 50km off road gravel ride through the tracks and hills in Stoke on Trent. Please support and help this wonderful charity.
