I spent my early childhood growing up in Nairobi and during our time there as a family my mum volunteered at Hospice Care Kenya.

This was the start of a long career in palliative care nursing for her which carries on for many years back in the UK.

As a family, as is true for so many, palliative care, which is largely funded through donations has impacted on many we know and have loved.

HCK is the only UK charity committed to helping adults, children and families to manage incurable illnesses, ease suffering and live well to the end. They need more help to continue important work with many who are in need.

This picture was taken at our send off when we left Kenya. As a family we’ve continued to stay in touch and support the work of HCK for many years since.
