Story
Our Dad, Pete Wood loved life. He enjoyed so many different pursuits in his time on this earth & every single one he threw himself in with everything he had.
Since moving to the Forest of Dean he became involved with The Dean Forest Railway & was proud to be a volunteer there.
Since being widowed for the second time he had become even more involved which we believe gave him a great purpose & helped him meet so many people.
He loved working in the ticket office, you could sit down there! He enjoyed being on the trains as a ticket inspector, especially when there were fish & chips to enjoy after the shift. Anything to avoid cooking! He’d recently been signed off to work the gates too, good going at 78 years young.
But most of all he loved bringing others in to the fold & was passionate about how the railway could bring joy to the community & to people of all ages.
If you’d like to remember Pete please leave some words & I know he’d get a kick out of knowing his time in the forest made a positive impact for the railway.
With love from his family.
