Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!
I'm joining fellow business leaders from across the UK as we unite to fight homelessness.
On 20th November I am spending a night sleeping in Lord's Cricket Ground, to raise awareness and funds for the Marylebone Project, one of Church Army's flagship projects which I am privileged to lead as CEO.
The need for the work of Marylebone Project is as evident as ever, indeed more now so as economic challenges push vulnerable people ever deeper into adversity. Yet, charities working with homelessness are harder pressed than I have ever seen. A wider debate is urgently needed about the way our society approaches this challenge together. Government is important, but this is a debate for us all.
As the largest and only women's-only hostel open 24/7, 365 in the UK, Church Army’s Marylebone Project offers a home; not a permanent or final home, but a place of security where we offer wrap-around support to help women in crisis address complex needs and be empowered to end their homelessness and live full, independent lives.
I have been moved by the incredible resilience of the Marylebone Project women - a service user at the Sanctuary shared that
defeat is not an option with the support we receive here.”
By sponsoring my CEO Sleepout, you can help to raise crucial funds for the Marylebone Project in order to continue its life-saving work. Aside from funds, your sponsorship will also send a message of support to the network of London's CEOs participating, encouraging them to commit even further to ending the profound issues that we all have the power to address. Your support at this urgent point for CEO Sleepout is a powerful statement of determination not to let homelessness become a life sentence.
