Story

My son, Daniel, was diagnosed with leukemia in February 2023. After a challenging 12 months he is now in maintenance and back to school. Throughout this time we had so much support from the NHS, charities, friends and family. Therefore, it's my turn to give back.

With 3 friends, I am attempting a 315km night/day bike ride in Sweden, called Vätternrundan, the world’s largest recreational bike challenge!

When Daniel was diagnosed I was unhealthy and overweight. I have since lost 18kg's and counting. Daniel inspired me to get fit and be healthier. So I am going to attempt this cycle ride to raise money for Momentum Children's Charity, who offered us a lot of support throughout Daniel's journey.

Momentum support children with cancer and life-challenging conditions, and their families, helping them to cope more easily whatever the outcome. Working across London, Surrey and Sussex, they partner with ten local hospitals who refer families to them following their child’s diagnosis

In the last year they supported 430 families through their child's serious illness diagnosis and treatment, or those who had sadly experienced a bereavement.
