Whoosh 2025: Sponsored group cycle ride Lindisfarne to Iona · 1 May 2025

Our projects provide food and income for communities, tackling poverty today. They also offer long-term change, improving the environment and soil fertility and tackling the effects of the climate crisis, for tomorrow. Thank you for your support.

Story

The Whoosh team is off on another cycling adventure - this time raising money for Tree Aid. And this is a page to donate to the whole team (not just me!)

This year takes us from Lindisfarne in Northumberland, through the highlands of Scotland and finishing on the small island of Iona in the West. We are following (in reverse direction) the journey of St. Aidan who founded the monastery at Lindisfarne 1400 years ago.

Tree Aid is a fantastic charity whose aim is to tackle poverty mainly in the Sahel region of Africa through the growing of trees and the restoration and protection of land. Led by local people, their projects make sure trees thrive so they can provide nutritious food and incomes today, and look after the environment for tomorrow.
