Peter's Kilimanjaro climb for Oxfordshire Mind

Climb Mount Kilimanjaro · 9 June 2024
I am planning to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania on June 9th-15th this year. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world: 5,895 m (19,341 ft) above sea level. It is a 6 day climb and other than the walking and climbing there is the high altitude/low oxygen and temperatures down to -25C which will make this a significant challenge.
I am fully funding the expedition myself but as a motivation I am taking the opportunity to raise money for Oxfordshire Mind which is the Siemens Healthineers designated charity this year. So 100% of your donations will go to Oxfordshire Mind.
Many people supported by this charity face challenges greater than climbing a mountain and any donations would be greatly appreciated.
1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem in any one year.
Oxfordshire Mind helps over 10,000 people with mental health challenges every year.
They promote good mental health through the provision of high quality services and campaigning for positive change.
Their services include housing, benefits advice, a confidential and free information line, short courses, children & young people support, volunteering opportunities, and they provide over 30 free, friendly, informal peer support groups across Oxfordshire.
