On Thursday, 9 October, we’ll be walking across the UK, with teams in Manchester, Scotland, and London, all united in one mission: to raise vital funds for SameYou, a charity dedicated to brain injury recovery.

Brain injuries can happen to anyone, at any time - and recovery can be a long, challenging road. I know from personal experience having suffered a brain hemorrhage (a hemorrhagic stroke) in 2011.

SameYou is working to change that by transforming neurorehabilitation and giving survivors the support they need to heal, rebuild, and thrive. Actor Emilia Clarke and her mother, Jenny, founded SameYou in 2019 after Emilia survived two life threatening brain haemorrhages while filming Game of Thrones. She outlined the lack of support available to survivors which sparked thousands of messages from around the world, identifying with her story.
