In memory of Peter Dawes in support of Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis
Peter Dawes dedicated his life to Real Tennis, inspiring generations of players, coaches, and enthusiasts over a remarkable career spanning more than 50 years. As Head Professional at Seacourt for over three decades, he transformed the club into one of the country's leading centres for the sport, championing opportunities for juniors and women while mentoring countless players who went on to achieve great success.
Beyond Seacourt, Peter played a pivotal role in the development and professionalisation of Real Tennis across the UK through his leadership of the Real Tennis Professionals Association. He was admired not only for his achievements but for his kindness, patience, generosity, and unwavering encouragement of everyone he met.
Throughout his life, Peter faced a number of health challenges, including pulmonary fibrosis, which was one of the main contributing factors to his passing. Thanks to the care, medication and specialist exercise programmes he received, his quality of life was greatly improved during his later years.
In Peter's memory, we are raising funds for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis, a charity dedicated to supporting patients and their families, raising awareness of this incurable disease, and funding vital research to improve treatments and, ultimately, find a cure.
Peter's legacy lives on through the people he inspired, the sport he loved, and the community he helped build. This fundraiser is an opportunity to celebrate his extraordinary life by supporting this wonderful cause in his memory.
