Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike Half Marathon 2024 · 12 May 2024 ·

We're hiking a half or full marathon along the picturesque Norfolk coastline in May 2024 to raise vital funds for people living with cancer.

Story

In 2023 the Unicorns took on their first Mighty Hike as a team, completing the Northumberland full marathon. On the way home Peter said "you know what I could have done the half today..." Peter should have known better than to make an off the cuff comment like that. That's all Jamie needed to start planning 2024's challenges, yep you read that right plural!

So heading into 2024, Team Unicorns Anonymous has gained two further hiking Unicorns (Joanne and Beverley were part of the team in 2023 but more in supportive roles). In 2024, as a team we will take on 2 different Macmillan Mighty Hikes, Norfolk in May and Thames Path in July. Peter and Jamie will be completing the full marathon in Norfolk on the Saturday. The following day they will be joined by Beverley and the three will complete the half marathon together. So over the weekend Peter and Jamie will complete a total of 39 miles!!!! Sadly Joanne is unavailable to join us in Norfolk, no matter how much we tried to persuade her to shorten her holiday ha ha. So we did the next best thing and found another hike that Joanne was available to take part in. In July Peter, Jamie and Joanne will complete the Thames Path half marathon, sadly Beverley is unavailable to take part in that one.

Jamie's challenge for 2025 is to get everyone together for at least a one half marathon (and who knows what else).

And the why? Well, sadly these days we all know someone that has been affected by cancer. Team Unicorns Anonymous want to do all we can to help support Macmillan as they work to help and support cancer warriors and their families.
