Fundraising in memory of Peter Everington

John Everington is raising money for The Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD)
In memory of Peter Everington
Conflict has broken out in Sudan, and hundreds of civilians have been caught up in the violence. As families flee their homes to escape, your donation today can provide them with the vital resources they need to survive

Story

As a family we are humbled and honoured by the many wonderful messages we have received since Peter Everington's death on 14th May.

For those who are interested in making a donation in his memory, we would ask for donations to the emergency appeal for Sudan, organised by the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD).

Sudan and South Sudan have been dear to my father and our family for nearly 70 years. After teaching English in the country between 1958-66, dad visited the country regularly, his last visit coming in 2018. He and my mother worked tirelessly with local peacemakers to help bring about God's peace and reconciliation between different communities in the two countries.

Along the way the Everingtons have been blessed by deep and dear friendships with many families and individuals from both Sudan and South Sudan.

It is only fitting therefore that donations made in my father's memory be made to help the millions affected by the recent civil war. The conflict has claimed the lives of up to 150,000 people in the last two years, forced millions from their homes, and has had a devastating impact on the lives of many of our personal friends.

Thank you for your generosity. If anyone has any trouble sending a donation, or would like to know more about Peter's work in Sudan, please contact us directly.

Many thanks for your kind generosity.

Jean, John and Deborah Everington
