Story

The ongoing conflict in the Sahel region in West Africa has caused much suffering. Many have been forced to flee their homes and move to towns and cities. Leaving their fields and animals behind, they have lost both their main source of food and their financial security. Many too experience ethnic prejudice, and struggle to find landlords willing to rent them a home, or school places for their children. Their needs seem overwhelming.

SIM works together with the local church to help displaced families begin to rebuild their lives. In Pete’s memory, we are raising funds for a SIM project that works with the small church among one of the hardest-hit ethnic groups in the region, giving practical help and showing the love of Christ to Christians and Muslims alike.

Pete visited the region and had the suffering people there were very much on his heart.
