Story
There are currently nearly one million people living with dementia in the UK, and this number is expected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040.
Alzheimer’s Society is working tirelessly towards a future where dementia no longer destroys lives, through vital support services, ground-breaking research, and campaigning for change.
This June, colleagues from across the Insurance industry are coming together to take on a challenge in support of Alzheimer’s Society. We'll be taking on part of the Transylvania Trail which includes a 3 day trek covering around 100km. The route will take us through steep mountain passes, ancient forests, sweeping valleys and dramatic rock formations.
We'll end up at Dracula's castle, which seems somehow apt when blood-based biomarkers are emerging as highly accurate, minimally invasive, and cost-effective tools for early diagnosis and screening for Alzheimer’s.
Any support you're able to add here will truly makes a difference. I'm meeting all expenses and any funds raised will go direct to the charity and will be matched by the Zurich Community Trust, doubling your impact.
Help us beat the count - the stakes couldn't be higher...
Many thanks
Peter
