CancerCare is a local, independent charity dedicated to helping adults and children affected by cancer or bereavement in North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Over 90% of our income comes from donations, fundraising and gifts in Wills.

Story

My toughest ever challenge - physically and mentally.

The backyard ultra or last one standing is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run the distance of 6.706 kilometres in less than one hour, which is a pace of 100 miles per 24 hours. The race is over when only one runner remains to complete a lap.

I am keen for a PB on my daily distance, which was 72 miles back in 2013 when I ran Hadrian’s Wall Coast to Coast. That took 13 hours.

100% willing to run in fancy dress or run in your corporate wear for one of my 4.2 mile loops (maximum 24 sponsors), whilst uploading a video on Socials 🎥, and giving a shoutout 📢 to you and your company. That’s all for a £100 donation though! NB: 1. Maximum 2kg total weight of outfit, 2. Nothing that inhibits performance, 3. Must be able to get in an out of it fast.

CancerCare is a local cancer and bereavement charity that helps people discover their capacity for life when times are tough - with the professional help, emotional support and collective strength to face whatever's next. More than 90% of CancerCare's work is funded by people like you who donate, fundraise or give a gift in their Will.
