Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My daughter Eliza is 4 and has Down Syndrome. She has just started school and is loving life, but does have to deal with additional challenges. These include the effects of low muscle tone, delayed learning and communication. Ever since she was little she has been receiving support from a wonderful charity called Shine21. They have, and continue to make a huge difference in helping Eliza and other local children with Down syndrome achieve their full potential in areas such as speech therapy and developmental support. As a family we feel so very blessed to have received this support Shine 21 provides and hope this challenge will raise £2500 to support its ongoing work.

I'm aiming to leave Hull at 7am on Monday the 9th and run a 63 mile route (102km) back to York! People with Down syndrome have 3 sets of the 21st chromosome, so this inspired the 63 miles total distance!
