I’m Peter McCafferty, a 72 years old veteran of Royal Air Force, and I’m excited to be taking part on The Walk of the World in The City of Nijmegen, The Netherlands (The Town is Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the event) to raise vital funds for the Royal Hospital Chelsea and its Veterans’ Outreach programme.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea has offered accommodation and care to old soldiers for over 330 years, and today around 300 Army veterans live there, including those who've served in Korea, the Falkland Islands, Cyprus, Northern Ireland and World War II.

The Outreach programme is helping to extend the Hospital’s unique brand of comradeship, care and community to Armed Forces and Merchant Navy veterans living beyond its gates – I’ve been assisting now for 5 years.
