The loss of a baby is a heartbreaking catastrophe. Losing Eloise at full term was a tragedy for our entire family. Acknowledging her birthday on the 18th of July every year reinforces our sense of loss, but also brings the family together because Eloise is not going to be forgotten.

Petals provided crucial and timely counselling for Eloise’s parents, my daughter-in-law Jess and my son Charlie. This invaluable service deserves to be strongly supported.

For this fund-raising event, as Eloise’s grandfather, I am proud to step into my daughter Clare’s boots – she was due to accompany Jess on the night-time Snowdon walk, but had to drop out at the last minute because of injury. I do have a few days though to do some training!
